Nordic Heritage Trail Series Finale – Freaky 4-Miler Run & Mountain Bike Race

Sunday, October 27th, 2013

Trail Series Finale – “Freaky 4-Miler” Trail Run & “The Goat” Mountain Bike Race and Potluck
Join us for an afternoon of Halloween fun at the Nordic Heritage Center!

The 2013 Nordic Heritage Trail Series wraps up on Sunday the 27th with our annual trail running race, up and downhill mountain bike race and a community potluck and bonfire immediately following. Here are the details:

Freaky 4-Miler – Not just another 5k; this course takes runners along the flowing singletrack of the Nordic Heritage Center, including Eric’s Around the Mountain, the West Trail and the Enchanted Forest!

The Goat MTB Race – This year’s version of the The Goat has racers heading up Eric’s around the mountain backwards, returning on Upper Goat and then rallying down the new section of trail above the parking lot.  This will be a lap-race.  Participants can choose between several distances based on their motivation to turn the pedals.

Kids activities will include games and a trick-or-treat walk on Moose Loop.

Costumes highly encouraged for ALL events!

*The Nordic Heritage Trail Series is designed to introduce the community to the fun of participation and competition on our local trails. All events will have a non-competitive component, and there’s always fun for the whole family. Each event provides the opportunity to earn points towards an individual and / or corporate team competition. Champions will be crowned at the end of each season. More information is available on our programs page. See you on the trails!
